Zircon products We import to China approximately 40, 000 tons of zircon annually,
and sell various grades of zircon, zircon flour and zirconium silicate. These products are
used in the ceramic industry, TV tubes, glass, casting refractory and chemical industries.
We have our own zircon flour grinding facilities in Zibo, Shangdong, (3, 000 tons pa) and
at Bayuquan, Liaoning (9, 000 tons pa).
Zirconium silicate is a high quality imported material, which is sold throughout China.
Astron is the largest independent supplier of zircon products in China.
Our Vice General Manager Zhang Hong has been satisfying customers needs and providing
technical support for many years and welcomes your inquiry.
Zirconia and Zirconium chemicals We producer a full range of high quality fused and
chemical zirconias. And basic zirconium chemicals such as zirconium oxychloride (ZOC),
zirconium basic sulphate (ZBS), zirconium acid sulphate (ZAS), zirconium basic carbonate
(ZBC) all processed in our factories in China. These products are used in the ceramics,
ceramic colours, electronics, jewelry, paper, leather and paint industries as well as for
chemical catalysts, in vehicle exhausts, catalytic converters and heat resistant and
abrasive coatings and advanced ceramic applications.
Our Vice General Manager Dr. Steve Mann is very well known in the zirconium industry as a
technical expert and would love to assist your enquiry.
Rare earth and other specialty chemicals We sell rare earth oxides boron chemical
products and Wollastonite products, as well as a wide range of related materials to
customers throughout the world.
Optical materials and coatings The optical coatings industry is presently
experiencing very strong growth and expanding in many directions. We started this aspect
of our business in 1999, and the factory was purchased from Merck, Poole England. Their
custom made equipment had produced ultra pure products for many satisfied customers over
many years , and then Technical Manager Tony Wilson now heads our team. He is an expert
with 25 years experience in the optical materials business and would welcome your enquiry.
Our optical products presently include:
Single crystals and crystal products
Substrates and optical pieces coating materials
Metal and rare earth fluorides, oxides, mixtures for
coatings, metal targets for coating.
Our aim is to be one of the lowest cost producers of these
materials in the world, and create the opportunity to become the largest high quality
coatings supplier in the world.
Production facilities and capacity All our production plants are located in China.
Our Zhaozao JV plant is one of the best ZOC quality producers in China and only 1 of 2, 2
step chlorination route factories in China. Our current production capacity of is 8, 000
tons. The new factories at Bayuquan consist of :
The optical factory- 5,000m2
The new chemical factory 10,000m2
The locations of the new factories were selected because of
the low land and building cost and convenience to the port (10 minutes). The latter factor
means convenience and low cost to deliver all along the coast of China where the major
markets and industry are , as well as providing very convenient and ready access to Korea,
Taiwan and Japan other world wide export locations. Excellent government support and
assistance and very competitive costs of services were other factors. Also the location is
very convenient to many nearby major mineral resources -Mg, Bo, rare earths etc.
The Bayuquan chemical factory is modern, with glass lined reactors, ABS piping, automatic
control systems, etc. Advanced chemical zirconias are prepared in advanced computer
controlled Shuttle Kilns. Our 'step 1' planned development will see production at full
